Our Animal Health Locations

Founded for the love of pets. Innovating nearly 150 years to protect and care for them.

In 2012, Sergeant’s Pet Care Products, one of America’s most trusted brands of pet supplies, was acquired by Perrigo.  Entering the animal health market supports Perrigo’s strategy of expanding into new categories where it can leverage its strengths to provide products that deliver superior value for consumers and retailers.

As part of the Perrigo Company, Sergeant’s brings effective flea and tick treatments, health and well-being solutions and treats for dogs and cats to pet owners in many different retail channels, such as pet specialty stores like Petco and PetSmart, grocery stores, mass retailers, dollar stores, drug stores and club retailers.

Company History

Pharmacist Polk Miller first formulated various pet healthcare products for use with his own pets.  As demand grew, he began to sell the products from his drug store, founded the company and named it after one of his favorite dogs, “Sergeant.”

Sergeant’s has been a pioneer in the research and development of pet health products, and played a key role in the invention of the flea collar.  We continue this tradition today with over-the-counter pest control squeeze-on topical products and flea and tick treatments using the same active ingredients as veterinary products.

While growth and change have marked the success of Sergeant’s over nearly 150 years, one thing has remained the same – the focus on creating high quality, proven pet products and fostering trust among pet owners.
