Twenty three years ago, I started as a groundskeeper, bringing with me experience in building maintenance. I was looking for a job that offered more consistency and security than typical of the construction industry. I found that, and more, with Perrigo.
We manufacture infant formula, and our processes are highly regulated to ensure FDA compliance. I’ve achieved multiple certifications, such as EPA for refrigeration, FDA quality training, HAZMAT and Perrigo training. Alongside and with the support of some very qualified people here, I learned about the plant operations, and have worked my way up to my current position, Lead Mechanic for Building Services.
This past year I’ve entered into a plumbing apprenticeship program to earn my master’s plumbing license. My manager has been a real advocate in continuing my professional development and growth at Perrigo. I’m increasing my knowledge in areas that interest me, and advancing my career.
I’m a firm believer in starting your day with a can-do attitude. It’s nice to come to work everyday, enjoying what you do and working for a solid company that values quality product and good people. I haven’t seen anything we can’t overcome working as a group. We are a real world-class operation. Caring about what we do and doing it right is critical, not only to us, but to all of the babies out there who rely on our products as their sole source of nutrition.
