I joined the Army, active duty, after high school. I was enlisted for a little more than 4.5 years and assigned to the Special Operations unit, the 75th Ranger Regiment at Fort Benning, GA. I served our country in a single deployment in Iraq and twice more in Afghanistan.
My military leadership roles and training courses translate well to my civilian life, and I use these skills daily as a Quality Control Supervisor at Perrigo Michigan Holland.
I started with Perrigo in manufacturing in 2010 and fast-tracked to my current position because of my military leadership experience, my Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences from Grand Valley State University, and my understanding of materials gained through my entry position.
My favorite part of what I do is coaching employees and seeing how that positively and directly impacts them. Coaching is critical to developing personally and professionally, making a difference in a person’s career and life. I also appreciate the coaching and mentoring given to me by the leadership team and others in various departments across the company.
I believe in what we do here, providing "Quality Affordable Healthcare products". Perrigo has a strong business growth plan, the benefits package is bar none one of the best I’ve seen, and the company encourages overall professional development by investing in employee training.
I feel I have life security and balance with Perrigo. I am an athletic competitor, and am able to work out during my lunch hour. I enjoy family time outside of work, and use the skills and experiences gained here to enhance my personal life.
I view employment as trading a piece of your life for a paycheck, and it’s up to you to grow and get the most that you can out of every day and experience. Perrigo is an excellent place for this.
