I studied biomedical engineering and was looking for a position in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry when I started with Perrigo New York in 2011 as a production engineer. The opportunity to develop a diverse skill set early in my career is one of the things I value most about my experience here.
As a production engineer, I worked with the technical aspect of the equipment on lines that make healthcare creams and ointments. Now, as a production supervisor, I interact with people of different educational and cultural backgrounds, developing my management and interpersonal communication capabilities, skills that will be important throughout my career. I combine technical and management skills, helping to develop those I supervise, making sure they are working safely, and problem solving production lines.
I have experienced much growth and change at Perrigo, and have learned to respond quickly to new responsibility and change. I have a close relationship with management, and am able to ask for the resources needed to be successful.
Perrigo New York is a 24-hour production plant with goals to meet in a fast-paced environment. No two days are ever the same. This is a great place to grow and expand your communication and management skills while being hands-on in the technical aspect of operations.
