My husband, Bill, and I wanted to go to Mississippi to help a family who lost their home in hurricane Katrina. As a single mother with two teenage boys, a small income and living in a FEMA trailer for 2 1/2 years, the dream of home ownership seemed impossible to her. We really didn’t have the funds to pay for the trip, but since we believed in the cause, we wrote a check and stepped out in faith.
My friends at Perrigo are always telling me they like my baked goods, so I made thirteen different pies and cakes and brought them to work, selling slices to help fund the trip. The wonderful people in Plant 6 and EAO supported the cause in donations! I was blown away by the caliber of caring people who work for our organization. Bill and I took the trip, working with a team of Kalamazoo area people who, over the course of one month, were able to complete the home. It has been amazing to see how Perrigo really allowed us to make a difference in someone else’s life.
